A visit to Evergreen, Co again before my return to Oregon.

I know I’ve been neglecting this running blog of sorts and I apologize to those of you who are following along. I always recommend checking out my Instagram feed since it’s a quick and easy way for me to throw some pictures out there for those interested. It takes me a great deal of time to upload all the pictures and videos and I’ll be honest I can’t even blame it on slow internet because I’ve had access to good internet at times. I was just being lazy. Now I am back at the farm in Oregon and many months have passed. The good thing is, I’ll try to put up a new post every couple days for the next few weeks which will give a nice continuous stream for a bit. I’ll give a quick rundown of the main things I’ve been up to over the past few months as a bit of a foreshadow into my current whereabouts.

I left off in the last post with the He Man camping trip in th Applachian Mountains. I flew to Evergreen, Colorado and spent a couple months there. I went on the Shasta Snow Trip with my buddy Heart, there was an extra trip tacked onto that bringing us to about a 5000 mile round trip in his old 57 singlecab bus. I was in Colorado for a few more weeks and took a train back to the Mog farm in Oregon. I was in Oregon for a few months before flying back to North Carolina where I spent the 4th with family. I went to High Country Bus Festival for the third time in an old pickup truck and had an amazing time as usual. I loaded up a Uhaul trailer and pulled it down to Florida for my grandparents, it was an interesting trip! I spent two weeks in Florida before flying back to Oregon just in time for my second year at North West Mog Fest at the Mog farm. It’s a week later and I’m super stoked to get all my half finished projects done in the Yetibus!

So that’s where my road life is at this moment and now to go back in time and show you the journey! As I love to say, it’s not about the destination, it’s the journey getting there!

I flew out of Knoxville, Tn to Denver, Co! No issues with the flight but trying to track down my buddy Heart, who was picking me up at the Denver airport, was not simple! There is more than one garage with the same letters and numbers and I figured it out the only way I could, which was walking back and forth, and up and down the parking garage only to find out the garage way further away had the same letter as the one I was in. Denver airport has crap for a directory. Finally at last I found the red Syncro Vanagon tucked away in a far lonely reach of the parking garage.

So in the photo above you can see the red Syncro and next to it is a gold Vanagon. The gold vanagon is also pictured below. Me and Heart were headed out to cruise in the Syncro and passed by this Vanagon sitting at a Subaru shop kind of out in the boonies. We stopped in and checked out the Vanagon, it’s an automatic with a 2.3 Subaru engine swapped. Ran great, shifted great, practically no rust and the interior is in decent shape. The guy owns the shop and had rebuilt the engine and did the swap himself and had put about 18,000 miles on it. Fresh! So Heart bought it for his son! We had it in the shop and spiffed it up a bit. We painted some stuff, cleaned the carpet, added mud flaps and cleaned up some rusty corroded wiring. Then put some nice proper tires on it.

She cleaned up nice!

I chilled with the dogs and Hearts mom for quite a bit before we took off on the Shasta Snow Trip+ again. This time we would go out to the Shasta trip and then head south through California and make our way to Dallas, Tx before heading back to Evergreen in Colorado! His mom and I would hang around on our computers and eat some candy. Maybe watch some crime shows on TV or go to a doctors appointment or the grocery store. She likes pizza as much as I do. The dogs are Mini on the left, Rizzo in the front and Lily is the St. Bernard in the back. Rizzo is my bro and follows me around most of the time I’m in the house.
