There’s a place called VanJCamp where a few vans and buses congregate around thanksgiving time! On the way there I made a couple stops.
I made a stop at an old ranger station after leaving the farm! I made it through the pass just in time, the snow was scheduled to really come down that night or the next day.
They retired this ranger station and moved it up on a hill next to the road, there’s the Yetibus in the parking lot! I met a really nice Ranger lady in the office, she gave me a smokey the bear magnet.
My buddy in Eugene gave me this sweet Remotron heater! New in the box, but from the 80’s or something. It’s pretty much the same thing as a Propex but probably a bit louder, I hope to install it so that I can also use it as a defroster. Soon I’ll be able to do full winter no problem! I’m also going to get all the solar stuff together and do a solar install! Then I’m going to get a fridge! Big things are coming! I’ve been waiting for a couple years to upgrade the bus like this.
On the way to the thanksgiving campout I made a stop back in Sheridan to say hi to the wonderful people at the Mog farm.
I found the Garmin!! The headquarters! My Garmin has saved me a lot of headaches, and money. I only wish I had the one with Canada maps, I had to do things a bit more old fashioned when I was in Canada. The Garmin gives me more freedom to go wherever and not worry about being completely lost. Even if I’m not using the GPS for maps I use it to monitor my elevation, accurate speed and upcoming roads. Most all of he national forest roads are on there too!
I ended up being the only one camped out in the camping area! 😬
The ground was frozen.
I reset the fire ring! My favorite thing to do when out camping growing up was building the fire ring.
There was a trail there and the path was a lush carpet of grass covered in frost from the night before. Pretty cool.
There was so much more food than this!! 
It was fun watching the chickens and playing fetch with the dog. I got there early so spent some time just hanging out before everyone started showing up. It was a good time.
